What you can choose
Cookies and similar browser storage can remember a choice or recognise a visit. On fortus.ca, optional analytics and replay require permission everywhere. Accept all allows both; Reject optional refuses both; Settings lets you choose them separately. Necessary storage keeps the site and your privacy choices working. No optional permission is inferred from browsing or scrolling.
Use at any time. Global Privacy Control refuses all optional tracking. If storage is blocked or consent cannot be verified, tracking stays off. Your choice lasts 180 days, and we ask again for a material purpose change. Email updates have a separate signup choice.
Storage inventory
| Item / provider | Purpose and trigger | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| __Host-fortus_privacy Fortus cookie, HttpOnly | Necessary opaque token to retrieve your versioned privacy choice and locate browser deletion requests. Set only when a choice is saved; host-only, never shared with product subdomains. | 180 days |
| fortus_privacy_stop Fortus cookie | Necessary local refusal/safety stop when you reject, withdraw, use GPC or a save fails. Cleared only after affirmative permission is saved and verified. | 180 days |
| fortus-privacy-signal Local storage | Necessary timestamp notifying other tabs that tracking must stop. Contains no identity or form information; overwritten on a choice change. | Until cleared by your browser |
| fortus_lang (cookie) fortus-lang (local storage) | Remember an explicit site-language selection. Browser language can be used without storing a preference. | Cookie: one year. Local storage: until cleared |
| preview_locale Fortus cookie | Remember an explicit Preview marketing region/language choice. A detected location or ordinary page visit does not save it. | One year |
| PostHog runtime identifiers | Only with permitted consent: website identity and temporary session/window IDs in memory. We do not intentionally persist PostHog analytics cookies/local storage or share IDs with applications. | Page lifetime; browser consent token remains as above |
Cloudflare may use necessary security/challenge cookies when its protection is triggered. These are controlled by the security service, not optional analytics; see Cloudflare’s cookie documentation. Browser caching of local fonts, images and scripts supports delivery. The embedded sample project has no optional analytics integration.
Analytics and replay
Optional measurement uses the EU PostHog service. Analytics is limited to selected page views, product-interest clicks, demo actions and successful submissions, without form contents or arbitrary URL parameters. Replay is limited to public marketing pages, masks text and inputs, and excludes forms, editable demos, contact/waitlist pages and private applications. Console, network-body and canvas recording are disabled.
Withdrawal stops new tracking across open tabs and starts deletion of the old website identity. A later opt-in uses a fresh identity. Analytics deletion is scheduled within 12 months of identity creation, new replays have a 30-day retention setting, and minimal consent receipts remain for three years. Provider deletion and recovery copies are asynchronous; see the privacy notice for limits. If collection is paused, your settings panel says so; saving permission does not override the pause.
Managing storage
You can clear or block cookies using your browser. This may remove remembered choices and the token used to locate website data; it does not itself delete server-side information. Reject optional tracking first or use the browser deletion control if you want us to erase linked data. You can always contact privacy@fortus.ca.
The privacy notice identifies Solutions TI Fortus inc., our privacy officer, providers, international processing and regional rights. Pricing and language preferences do not determine your rights. This notice applies only to fortus.ca.
